Ushuaia

I had a simple thought on the way to Antarctica. At the southernmost edge of the inhabited world sits Ushuaia—a place defined by isolation, beauty, and strategic positioning. It is not just remote; it is intentional. Ships launch from here. Expeditions begin here. It is a gateway.

That idea alone frames a powerful question for those called to share the gospel:

Are we positioned like a gateway—or simply existing like a destination?

The Edge Is Not a Limitation—It’s a Calling

In Scripture, positioning is rarely accidental. Jesus consistently placed Himself where people already were—markets, roads, homes, shorelines.

“The Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10, CSB)

Ushuaia reminded me that sometimes the most strategic place is not the most comfortable—it’s the furthest reach. The gospel advances when believers intentionally step toward the margins, not away from them.

Application:
Where are the “edges” in your context?

  • The overlooked
  • The resistant
  • The spiritually indifferent

Positioning begins with proximity.
